Saskatchewan beauty

Yahoo! I just wrote the mid-term exam for my International Management class and scored a 92%. I’m a little disappointed at some of the questions I got wrong because I really did know the correct answer. Oh well, I shouldn’t complain.

Usually people take a break after finishing something like this, but I have to start researching for my major paper today. The paper focuses on both sides of the softwood lumber dispute between Canada and US. I’m trying to put my Canadian biases aside for this one and see things from the American perspective as well.

Tara and I are planning to make the trek to Edmonton for Thanksgiving weekend, so I need to get most of my assignments completed before then. This should be a busy 3 weeks!

Well, I better start working on that paper. As a closing note, I know that many of you think that we live in a desolate wasteland without trees or hills. Although that statement is partially true, we do have some amazing sunsets to boast about. Check out the picture I’ve posted. This pic was taken right beside our apartment.

Study break

Good day y’all,
After studying for the past 2 hours, I decided to take a little study break and update the blog.

I’m finding it a little hard to know what to write for these blogs because my life right now is very repetitious and uneventful (i.e. boring). My typical day involves going to work (8am-5pm), going to the gym (5-6pm), eating supper with Tara (6-7pm), and hitting the books (7-10pm). Unfortunately, the weekends don’t get anymore exciting. The good news is that in only 4 weeks, I’ll be taking a 4-6 month break from school in order to spend some time with Tara and the baby. I’m definitely looking forward to that!

As for Tara, she has continued to be a very healthy and happy pregnant woman. After hearing stories of other pregnancies, I think we’ve been very blessed with how things have gone thus far. I guess the only issue has been getting a good night sleep. It’s no easy task to avoid laying on your back or stomach, even if you have 6 pillows propping you up.

Although I would love to keep procrastinating, I better get back to studying for this exam I have on Saturday.

Until next time,

Mike

Constructing a baby crib

Hi everyone,
Well, we’re officially one step closer to baby Tisdall’s arrival. Not only is today the beginning of the third trimester for Tara, but the baby crib has now been assembled. Yes, maybe it is a little too early to assemble the crib, but I just couldn’t help myself. When I tackled the project on Friday night, it took me about 2 minutes before I did the typical guy thing and tossed aside the instructions. As I struggled my way through this building project, Tara just sat there, laughing at me and taking pictures.

After I finally finished the project and started moving the crib to the 2nd bedroom, I quickly realized that I had made a very stupid mistake… it was too large to fit through the doorway. Ok, I learned a valuable lesson here so don’t bug me. I’ll spare you the details, but it took me another 30 minutes from there. I’m sure I’ll be telling our child this story someday.

Have a good one,

Mike (and Tara)

We'll give this a try

Hello family and friends (and strangers),

I know that blogs are the “big thing” these days, so I thought we better try this out. I’ve heard that these are great for keeping friends and family connected with what’s going on in your life. I have no idea whether we’ll keep this updated regularly or if this will be our one and only posting. I guess you’ll have to wait and see.

Since many of you have not seen Tara during the pregnancy, I’ll post some pictures of her. Yes, she’s growing slowly but surely. In fact, she just went to the doctor yesterday and it looks like things are going well for both Tara and the baby. The count down to delivery has begun. T-minus 14 weeks and 3 days.

Well, I better get going. It’s getting late and I have to be in Moose Jaw at 7:45am tomorrow to help a buddy pick up his new backyard shed. Yeah… no sleeping in this Saturday :(

Until next time,

Mike (and Tara)
